Cruising

A cruise vacation is one way to explore the world’s best destinations, without having to plan every detail of visiting the Caribbean or Mediterranean. The Captain drives the ship, and the travel itinerary is pre-planned for you. Cruising aboard a cruise ship, you are delivered in luxury to exotic locations, sunny Caribbean islands, Italy’s coast, even more exotic Croatia, as well as Europe’s beautiful canals, Norway’s fjords and more.

Daily Ports of Call – Every day your cruise liner docks at a new and inviting port of call but your floating hotel suite and your luggage stay put for the week. We have cruised on the big well-known cruise ships like Royal Caribbean to review their latest ships, and sailed with small boutique luxury cruise companies like Azamara and MSC.

See our reviews of the top Cruise ship companies and best cruise destinations in the Caribbean, Mexico, the Mediterranean and Adriatic, Europe and beyond and Cruise Tips for packing and making the most of your luxury cruise vacation.

Recent virus transmission has cast a dark shadow on cruising, since its a confined environment with lots of exposure to fellow passengers and crew – and despite the crew cleaning protocols, we have witnessed how pandemics can occur on board. Let’s just say, cruise companies have upped their sterlization, and there will be deals on cruise as public concerns for their health and safety are heightened.

We  definitely recommend barefoot charters, for those with boating experience – you can rent your own private yacht in the BVI and Caribbean, or in Europe with Le Boat or other charter companies. You can hire a captain, or be your own captain and crew – which we have enjoyed – see our reviews of sailing Norway’s Fjords, and boating the French Canal system.
